BMW finally reimbursed me for my subframe reinforcement

Hey All,
Just wanted to update everyone on my subframe claim. Today I got a check from BMW NA for the cost of the subframe reinforcement. They paid for the cost of labor and the TMS subframe reinforcement kit, however they did not cover the cost of the new subframe bushings. Either way, I'm a happy camper. Here is the list of the events that took place.
1. Took Car to PT (Performance Technic) to get inspected for subframe, and they found fractures.
2. Took car to BMW of Fremont who said my car was OK and had this documented.
3. Took my car back to PT to get the Subframe Reinforcement Group buy.
4. Filed a Claim. Sending my receipts, just as it asks for.
5. After waiting 3 months, BMW rejects the claim, citing that BMW of Fremont said my car was OK.
6. I appealed their decision and wrote a lengthy email describing why they were wrong. I also showed them the photos taken by Joe and Matt when they did work on my car.
7. 1 month later, today, I get my check from BMW NA.

For anyone who wants to apply for the Claim, MAKE SURE you send your photos of damage to the Claim's Administrator. When I had emailed them asking if they needed pictures, they said I did not. But it turns out, they actually DO need the pictures, so save yourselves the hassle and email them when you send the claim.

This also proves that you can get a subframe reinforcement done with the TMS Kit by a Indy Shop on a Stock Car and still get reimbursed. I wanted to share this with you all.

That is great news. I am very happy you got that check Ajay. Nice to know BMW takes care of their loyal customers. Anyone who needs their subframe reinforced, now is the time. The recall ends in September, so after that BMW will no longer reimburse customers. Hopefully we can squeeze in a few more before the cutoff.

Thanks again Joe, all the effort you guys put in to take those pictures paid off during your process of repairing the subframe.

That is wonderful. It does not surprise me that a little extra effort was needed for them to reimburse you. Persistence pays off, good job!

I suppose as with anything of this nature, it follows the "Ask 'em, tell 'em, show 'em" model. It's almost as if you need to SHOW them that they can reimburse you otherwise they won't do it even if they know they can.

Yes I'm hoping those that had PT do the subframe reinforcement will post if they were successful or not with the reimbursement. They should be if they send the pictures to BMW. The funny thing is, for me, I think even if my car was NOT stock, I would have gotten BMW to foot the bill. The guy at BMW of Fremont told me it didn't matter if my car was stock or not. I specifically asked him would it matter if I had suspension, he said they didn't care.

They reimbursed the full amount, they did not cover the subframe bushings as those aren't necessarily required for the subframe reinforcement, just recommended.
